Dermapen is a micro-needling device that makes thousands of controlled micro-perforations in the skin. That minimal "injury" activates natural repair: the skin produces new collagen and elastin, and the surface layers renew. It can be combined with actives (vitamins, hyaluronic acid, PRP) that penetrate better through the micro-channels.

how it works
The skin is cleansed and topical anesthesia is applied for 20 to 30 minutes. Then the device covers the area at a depth adjusted to each zone. At the end the chosen active and a soothing mask are applied. At samaar there is a classic version and a version with a premium active ingredient.

- The skin stays red as after a day in the sun for 24 to 72 hours, and may flake slightly. No makeup the first day, strict sunscreen and no direct sun for the first week.

frequently asked questions
Does it hurt?
With topical anesthesia it feels like a vibration and some warmth. Bony areas (forehead, cheekbones) are more sensitive. It's tolerable for the vast majority.
How is it different from Hydrapen?
Hydrapen infuses the active at the same time as it makes the micro-perforations; Dermapen makes them first and the active is applied afterwards. The physician chooses based on the goal.
Does it work for old acne scars?
It's one of the reference treatments for atrophic scars. Improvement is progressive and depends on the scar type; at the consultation it's defined whether it works on its own or combined with PRP or fractional radiofrequency.
